Waiting For The Pin To Drop

Ear to the floor.

You hear the tentative steps afar,

Thumps the corner of your cheek.

We’ve all once before waited for the pin to drop. At least once. Sometimes it did and sometimes it didn’t, hopefully, it didn’t darken your perception of the future. Waiting for the pin to drop is simply this: Relying on something or someone to determine the next step in your life and holding your breath at the same time. Not particularly pleasant, the result is either anxiety or relief.

I don’t like to wait but I consider myself a patient person though. There isn’t much positivity affiliated with the word. For example: Waiting rooms, waiting patiently… I can’t think of anything else but you get the point. You are just on standby; there’s nothing else you can do and that feeling is scary at times. Your control is gone. Sigh. Do we wait based on faith or on doubt? Do we wait accepting the outcome laid before us or do we wait hoping the person will change? You see what I mean? Even if you are standing still, you should still breathe. In other words- LIVE. WAIT is WEIGHT.

If you waiting for a call

Turn the phone off

If you waiting for the bus

Just walk it off

If you waiting for the Sun

Then rise on up

If you waiting for the check

Get out the store, don’t shop!

If you waiting for the milk man

He’s coming soon enough

If you waiting for a tan

I can’t help you, you’re stuck

If you waiting for the rain

Sing people, tell the whole block

If you waiting for the pin

Then Imma say “Stop”!

…What you waiting for?
